Red Baron Instructors

The Red Baron "brand" is synonymous with quality flight training. We have proudly set the benchmark for quality flight training since 1983. Our success can be attributed to the high standards that we have set for our Flight Instructors, superior training syllabus and our aerobatic-capable training fleet.

Thinking about taking lessons? Would you not have expectations that your Flight Instructor is capable of delivering a superior flight training syllabus to a very high standard? Unfortunately the reality is that your expectations are unlikely to be met by the "typical" Flight Instructor operating from a "typical" flying school and this highlights fundamental flaws within the current minimum requirements of the training syllabus set by CASA, the training regulator.

There are a number of flaws, one for example, is that most aircraft are capable of entering an inadvertent spin if mishandled, so it makes good sense that, as a pilot you should be capable of recovering from incipient and fully-developed spins. Our Flight Instructors are equipped with the appropriate aircraft and skill levels to teach you how to enter and safely recover from fully developed spins. Furthermore, you will be taught not to fear the "dreaded tail spin" but rather to understand it and to enjoy it! Spinning is fun! In contrast, at most other flight training schools, the instructors only teach students to "fear and avoid" with minimal theory on recognising and recovering from one!

All of our Flight Instructors are hand-picked experienced Senior Flight Instructors who are highly trained and capable of delivering much more than the standard CASA minimum training syllabus. In fact, all of our Flight Instructors have received additional specialist training and they are all fully qualified aerobatic instructors who regularly compete in aerobatic competitions.

In summary, our instructors will give you superior skills and make you a safer more competent pilot.
