RED BULL

Red BullWho are Red Bull?
In 1984, Dietrich Mateschitz founded the company Red Bull GmbH. He worked hard to fine-tune his key product and started selling the Red Bull Energy Drink on the Austrian market in 1987. Red Bull got off the ground in no time flat, giving people wiiings right from the start. In 1992, Red Bull touched down in its first foreign market, Hungary. Today, Red Bull is energizing over 100 countries around the globe.

What is Red Bull?
Red Bull is more than just a soft drink - it is an energy drink: Its main ingredients are Taurine, Glucuronolactone and Caffeine. Red Bull was developed for use in times of increased physical and mental stress and improves endurance, alertness, concentration and reaction speed. In short: it vitalizes body and mind.

Red Bull and Aviation
Dietrich Mateschitz and Red Bull have a long association with aviation, particularly aerobatics.
Red Bull owns The Flying Bulls, an extensive collection of vintage aircraft, expertly restored by Red Bull engineers. The centrepiece of the collection, and the largest plane by far, is a DC-6B. Other aircraft include a Mitchel B25J, a Cessna 208 Caravan, a G-44 Widgeon, an F4U- 4 Voight Coursair, an Alpha Jet, a Pitts S2B (very similar to the Pitts S2A’s flown by The Red baron) and 2 helicopters.

To house all these aircraft Dietrich Mateschitz commissioned a new hangar for Salzburg Airport in Austria; but Hangar 7 would be no ordinary storage shed. … “First there was the idea to create a place of imagination and enthusiasm instead of a simply functional building – a place that brings together love of flying and love of art...” The idea for Hangar 7 was to build a free-span shell synonymous with the sky. Work was completed on Hangar 7 in 2003, and, as well as having a practical use for housing The Flying Bulls, the space is an architectural work of art and home to an art gallery, restaurants and bars. Hangar 7 is open to the public daily from 9am-10pm.

Red Bull currently sponsors several aerobatics teams and individuals including The Flying Bulls (Czech Republic), The Red Bulls (Italy), Peter Besenyei and Kirby Chambliss (USA), Action Flite Unlimited (NZ) and The Red Baron (Australia). Their commitment to Aviation is practical, extensive and growing year by year.

The Red Baron thanks Red Bull for their continuing support.
